Duties and Responsibilities:

The planner/scheduler will work directly with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, technicians, and production personnel to build a reliable maintenance system.

  • Maximizing operating profit through using planned and scheduled maintenance where it is more effective than alternatives.
  • Quickly returning equipment to design capability through using planned maintenance most effectively.
  • Maximizing equipment availability and reliability through most effectively using planned and scheduled maintenance.
  • Assisting with preparation and monitoring master schedules; works with materials planning, production, Engineering, and maintenance personnel to coordinate activities.
  • Communicating status and changes to customer service or directly to customers (production).
  • Coordinates predictive and preventative maintenance scheduling.
  • Maintains equipment information and repair files.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and research.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • The Maintenance Planner/coordinator will monitor the SAP system daily activities and reports to ensure that technicians are utilizing the system correctly to help us monitor workload of the technicians and trends in outages, breakages to assist in improving the equipment and process.
  • Provide input to the Maintenance Manager into the development of the maintenance and repair operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures for the maintenance department.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager, supervisors, and planner in getting Maintenance breakdown less than 5%, Preventive Maintenance efficiency more than 90% and achieving productivity of the maintenance staff above 95% by inspecting and following up on work performed by maintenance technicians and contractors.
  • Capture working hours vs. paid hours to at least 95%, Receive craft hours availability forecasts for the next week from the crew supervisors.
  • Begin coordination of work involving advance notice to a contractor of more than a day or two.
  • Work with crew supervisors to coordinate work through planning that is approved to disrupt the current week's schedule of work.
  • Work with crew supervisors to develop schedules for short notice outage work (SNOW).
  • Provide technical expertise and support for the planning and scheduling of Maintenance activities while ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance and equipment availability related to manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Plans all works ensuring equipment availability and that work orders have Materials, Labor, Special Tools, Safety Permits defined.
  • Identify required materials from either stores or external suppliers based upon detailed job plans.
  • Assure that work orders selected have been coded as "Planned" and "Ready to Schedule" and that parts, materials, and external resources, if required, are available.
  • Ensuring all company policies and safety tools are either built in to work orders or are being used to complete work orders.
  • Identify PM / Calibration, procedures from SAP CMMS system and issue to mechanics.
  • Plan, organize and schedule workflow including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work, project support and normal operations tasks to meet priority demands, and long and shortterm projects.
  • Followup, problemsolve, troubleshoot processes, communicating scheduling information and status of maintenance work issues with customers and staff.
  • Determine work plans based upon sitewide field trips, priority, available work force, and other criteria, review plans and schedules with associated management.
  • Monitor, track, review, and analyze open work orders and work order aging for assigned maintenance groups.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and coordinating corrective maintenance, and necessary resources for manufacturing process equipment within each Business Unit.
  • Partners with Manufacturing Planning Department to ensure all activities can be met.
  • Determines the scope of the work requests including clarification of the originator's intent and assigning appropriate priority to facilitate effective deployment of resources.
  • Develops revised and review related SOPs or job plans/work plans for work related areas.
  • Schedules Major and Minor Site Outages, including Maintenance shutdowns, minimizing the impact to Operations.
  • Contribute to the completion of projects and manage own time to meet agreed targets.
  • Develop, manage, communicate, and execute maintenance plans and master schedules to effectively utilize plant resources (material, time, labor, and capacity).
