We want you to applyJob Summary and Qualifications:
As the Administrative Assistant for the Surgery department, you will provide direct administrative and secretarial support to the Director or Surgery and Surgical Services Managers.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of equipment including computers, fax, and printers
- You will pull relevant volume and data reports as needed from Meditech
- You will receive, prioritize, research, and analyze information
- You will organize and prepare data reports
- You will be responsible for the Surgery Department Tissue Database and will input all relevant information ensuring accuracy and compliance
- You will assist with verifying time and attendance reports and records, and correct payroll errors and reimbursements
- You will schedule and attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- You will order office supplies for the department
- You will answer phones, screen and direct calls
- You will check surgeon privilege status
- You will assist the Board Runner in the day to day running of the surgery schedule
What qualifications you will need:
Experience
- 2 years of secretarial experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and computers preferred
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
