Director of Visitor Development


Compensation:
Starting at $17.34 per hour***
Direct Reports: None


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Answer phone calls during business hours
  • Make Outbound calls to ensure Member satisfaction and generate sales
  • Follow up to general museum inquiries from Membership Inbox
  • Report departmental revenue and package statistics
  • Coordinate with Visitor Success Supervisor on Front Desk Member Engagement Training
  • Manage Member Database
  • Generate buzz around Memberships by planning seasonal promotions
  • Create Member Appreciation Moments
  • Welcome and acknowledge all visitors to the Museum
  • Inform families on / enforce all Museum Safety Protocols
  • Process credit card, cash, and other monetary transactions in a fastpaced environment
  • Meet Department Revenue Goals by selling Memberships, Gift Cards, and Signature Programs.
  • Clean, disinfect, and organize workstation
  • Communicate positively and professionally to coworkers in all levels of the organization
  • Close / Balance daily cash drawer
  • Stay up to date on museum policies, exhibits, and events
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Basic Mathematic Skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages desirable

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Education/Training/Experience:


  • High School graduate or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred
  • Must meet requirements of employment background check

Language Skills:
Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints with visitors. Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages desirable


Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts as well as basic mathematic skills (subtraction, multiplication, division)


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills; Becoming efficient in Altru through training and usage to successfully meet departmental responsibilities.

Environmental Requirements:

Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled work area. May also be exposed to extreme weather conditions with constant ambient noise levels. Must be able to work in open area with other employees. Employee must adhere to current company and CDC pandemic related guidelines.
