    RN - Stepdown

    Job Details:


    • Work 3x12 hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement

    • 13-week assignment duration with ASAP start date

    • 4:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends

    • Care for cardiac surgery patients after ICU on cardiovascular stepdown/telemetry unit

    • Manage chest tubes, dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgery patients

    • 24-hour orientation with up to 7 hours of non-billable modules

    • Must have 2+ years RN experience with strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown background

    • Experience required with chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and CVSD patients

    • Active Virginia or Compact license required at submission

    • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS

    • EPIC charting system experience required - training class dependent on experience level

    • Skills include cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip management, post-cardiac procedures, and telemetry monitoring

    • Smoke/nicotine free facility

    • Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as travelers

    • Weekend coverage required with holiday work expected

    This healthcare facility operates a specialized cardiovascular stepdown unit with 21 beds dedicated to caring for cardiac surgery patients transitioning from intensive care. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac services with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization maintains high standards for cardiac care with modern telemetry monitoring capabilities and specialized equipment for post-surgical cardiac patients.
