Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team.

As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining insurance pre-approvals for medical procedures and ensuring that all necessary documentation is submitted accurately and in a timely manner.

Your role will involve working closely with medical offices, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate the prior authorization process.


Duties:

• Review patient medical records and treatment plans to determine the need for prior authorizations
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for specific procedures
• Complete and submit prior authorization requests to insurance companies
• Follow up on pending authorizations and provide updates to medical/dental offices and patients
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies in the authorization process
• Maintain accurate records of all prior authorization activities
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality throughout the process

Experience:

• Previous experience working in a cCardiology medical office setting is highly preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD10 coding, and insurance verification processes
• Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete documentation
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
