Through its work, CAL seeks solutions to issues involving language and culture as they relate to access and equity in education and society around the globe.
The Customer Support Assistant (Part-time) aids the Customer Relations Specialist, BEST Assessments in handling the shipment of BEST assessment materials, providing telephone and customer service and support to BEST customers, and providing administrative support as needed.
The incumbent will need to perform these duties at CAL's office in Washington, DC, for the total of 20 hours weekly.
There is a possibility of increased hours with adequate performance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, package, and ship BEST assessment materials under the supervision of Fulltime Customer Support Assistant
- Monitor and maintain inventory of BEST assessment products
- Enter data and maintain database of trained test administrators for Adult English Language BEST assessments
- Provide administrative support (copying, printing, mailing correspondence data analysis), as needed
- Organize and mail complimentary materials needed for training assignments and conference presentations
- Participate in periodic meetings
- Complete other assignments at the direction of the Customer Relations Specialist
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**- High School diploma or equivalent
- Some college experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in an office setting and handling shipment of printed materials
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Acute attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively in a fastpaced team environment.
Additional Information COMPENSATION**:
Minimum Salary: 50% of full time annual salary $37,100.00 ; Benefits eligible
