    Division Manager- Food Service - Oceanside, United States - Job Options

    SUMMARY: Directs service operations of all food service projects by performing personally or through subordinate supervisors. Responsibilities include profit and loss responsibility, meeting direct labor disabled percentages, and corporate safety goals. Responsible for operations at five (5) Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Mess Halls, Providence Place and any other acquired.
    • Coordinates operations in accordance with policies, principles and procedures established by the Chief Operating Officer to meet contractual requirements established by the government, Sodexo and any others acquired.
    • Hiring, terminating, discipline and other employment practices at all sites within the appropriate Division. Hiring and terminating is coordinated through the Corporate HR Department.
    • Directly supervises Project Managers at each site.
    • Works with Corporate to develop annual budgets and incentive plans for each site.
    • Reviews monthly P& L's at each site, and makes adjustments in costs and labor to insure that budgets are met.
    • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines and employees.
    • Develops and implements quality assurance program at each site to insure that JOI is conforming to the standards in the contract.
    • Responds to deficiencies issued by Contracting Officer by following the process outlined in the contract and other evidence provided to insure that any contractual adjustments are minimized.
    • Works with contracting to develop requests for equitable adjustment and claims when JOI has performed work that is outside contractual boundaries.
    • Implements commensurate wage program at each site.
    • Implements ISO 9000: 2001 program throughout the Division.
    • Reviews costs and quality of service, and modifies work and personnel control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of Division.
    • Responsible for implementing effective safety program throughout Division that follows company policy and procedures.
    • Conducts performance reviews of project managers, and insures that a performance review system has been implemented by project managers for their employees.
    • Responsible for meeting disabled direct labor requirements as set by law at each site.
    • Regularly meets with site management to insure that concerns are being regularly addressed.
    • Represents Job Options Inc. at various NISH and industry conferences.
    • Spearheads new business development in both commercial and governmental sectors; new project development.
    • Responsible for pricing and finalizing new contracts. Must be familiar with WTSA Standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages Five main subordinate project managers who supervise a total of approximately 200 employees at the Camp Pendleton and Providence Place Mess Halls. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, occasional interviewing, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly responsible for project manager performance at each site, evaluates on a continuous basis performance at each site through various reports. Responsible for imparting all safety related to custodial and landscaping operations.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluent in English both written and verbal.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid California Driver's License and able to use personal vehicle, subject to higher authority approval and reimbursed at regular company rates. Serve Safe and/or PIC (Navy Food Handlers Certification).

    INVESTIGATION: Must submit to a Background Investigation that can include fingerprinting. Must return signed verification of receiving this Job Description.
