    Solution Architect

    to join our team.

    We are seeking an exceptional technical leader with extraordinary attention to detail.

    The ideal candidate will be excited about staying at the forefront of technology trends, applying a multi-disciplinary approach, actively participating in coding tasks, and possessing an in-depth understanding of new cloud technologies and a good understanding of machine learning frameworks.


    A successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of communication and be able to effectively communicate with upper management, customers, and the members of the team knowing that the audience will range from those who have a very limited understanding of technology to those who are on the world forefront of Cloud ecosystems.


    The Solution Architect must have communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, succinctly articulate business impacts, translate technical information into layperson and business terms, concisely 'storyboard' complex problems, solutions, and approaches in a manner appropriate for executives, develop frameworks, templates, and high-quality pragmatic deliverables that can be carried forth and executed by project teams, and articulate and demonstrate gaps in our products based on real-world customer use cases.


    He or she has problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and analyze options/hypotheses objectively, applies industry-leading practices, and facilitates negotiations/discussions involving groups of diverse stakeholders.


    We are part of Oracle Cloud Product Development Group helping Oracle's top customers and helping Oracle's Engineering teams with solution architecture.

    The position entails a high level of internal and external visibility with senior management.

    It involves contributing to and leading multidisciplinary projects focused on architecting, designing, and prototyping complex cloud solutions that involve Oracle Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a service (IaaS).


    The primary focus of this role will be using modern engineering practices to architect and build distributed, reliable, maintainable cloud-based solutions.

    Broad knowledge of security, networking, CICD, and cloud native technologies is required, any Machine Learning or SaaS knowledge is highly desirable.

    The role will provide global exposure both in terms of customers and internal Oracle teams.


    Typical Duties and Responsibilities include:


    • Design complex and innovative technical solutions leveraging Oracle Cloud offerings to address critical business requirements of our customers. Participate in highly technical discussions.
    • Manages competing, quickly changing priorities effectively and handle input from many internal and external collaborators and stakeholders.
    • Closely collaborate with high calibre peers and a variety of teams and groups in a highly dynamic environment - Developers, Product Managers, Senior Leaders, Pre-Sales, Consulting, Documentation, QA, among others
    • Identify recurring patterns and solutions and generalise these for broader re-use across the entire ecosystem - Oracle, Partners, and Customers.
    • Identify common pain points in Oracle products and Solutions and propose alternatives to improve them.
    • Code tools, prototypes, demos, and re-usable assets aimed at Product Development, Pre-sales teams, and post-sales teams.
    • Establish relationships and feedback channels into product management and product engineering ultimately resulting in product improvements and innovations.

    Skills, and Experience:


    • Highly motivated, self-starter with an eagerness to learn and a strong ambition to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
    • Experience in developing/operating/managing Enterprise SaaS offerings such as Oracle SaaS, Salesforce, Workday or even non-enterprise SaaS.
    • Hands-on experience working with at least one of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud providers.
    • Solid understanding of how to configure, deploy, manage, and maintain large cloud-hosted systems, including auto-scaling, container management, monitoring, automation, scripting, troubleshooting and disaster recovery.
    • Fluency in one or more scripting languages such as Python or Golang.
    • Exceptional analytical and critical reasoning skills capable of flexible and lateral thinking
    • You will have the ability to actively lead technical discussions with customers, partners, and other Oracle engineering teams.
    • You should have an understanding of Open source and non-Oracle products and solutions.
    • You will have a natural inclination to coach - through training, public forums, blogs, and conferences.
    • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills; demonstrated comfort level for presentations to senior leadership level meetings.

    Basic Qualifications:


    • A master's degree in information technology, Computer Science or related field or a bachelor's degree and comparable experience in software development, information technology, and data architecture.
    • You will have a minimum of 10 or more years of experience in information technology with at least 4 years of experience in the Cloud.

    Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

    Canada:
    Hiring Range from $76,700 to $167,000 CAD per annum

    US:

    Hiring Range:
    from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.


    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

    Paid time off:
    Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.

    For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

    Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

    9. 11 paid holidays

    Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
