Overview:

This is a hybrid onsite/remote position, which will be dependent on business needs. Applicants must reside in California.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm


Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

Serves as a primary liaison to provide patient-families and referring providers a positive experience at CHLA by working with ambulatory clinics and providing support and facilitation for the intake and processing of new patient referrals,, call processing, registering patients, collecting and submitting referral information and standard missing documentation, and scheduling and verifying patient appointments.

Will assist with financial clearance and securing authorization for clinic visits, as needed. Handles all referrals with a strong sense of customer service to patients, families, and providers.

Serves as the main point of contact for referral and access support for Care Network providers and other Preferred Provider Organizations referring to CHLA.

Works closely with ambulatory clinics to ensure scheduling and follow up care is completed. Assists with creation and review of divisional performance reports and metrics for referrals


Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 4+ years' experience in a healthcare setting managing referrals and registration for patients required. Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal effectively with the public. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.


Preferred:
5+ years' experience in a healthcare setting managing referrals and registration for patients.

Bilingual (English/Spanish).


Education/Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or GED required.

Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred. California Medical Assistant certification preferred.
