Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Owatonna, MN

Type: Full-time Direct Hire

Hours: Sunday- Tuesday (Nights or Days)

Pay: Starting at $25/hr. and up based on experience

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be the backbone of our client's operations, ensuring that equipment and facilities are in top-notch condition. From performing preventative maintenance to troubleshooting and repairs, your mechanical and electrical expertise will be put to the test every day.

Responsibilities:

Inventory and control stock of supplies using a computerized maintenance program.
Specify equipment for upgrades and repairs.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, dismantling, and cleaning of parts, overhead hoists, and conveyor belts.
Demonstrate general fabrication skills including welding, torch operations, and following simple blueprints.
Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams for diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems.
Disassemble and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, performing necessary repairs.
Design layout and installation of plumbing projects.
Install machines and troubleshoot without direct supervision.
Adhere to safety protocols and use approved safety equipment.
Follow Business Process Documentation and actively contribute to Continuous Improvement efforts.

Skills and Abilities:

Lathe and mill experience is helpful.
Maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English.
Knowledge of power tools.
Ability to take supervision and work effectively in a team.
Welding experience with ARC, MIG & TIG.
Ability to ready blueprints and diagrams.
Disassemble and diagnose equipment.

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
Bachelor's degree or vocational training (preferred)
4 years of related experience (preferred)
