Job purpose

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manages entire new hire process for employees across multiple companies
  • Maintain records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes and related paperwork, to share with hiring managers
  • Facilitate the offer process by extending the offer and negotiating employment terms
  • Coordinates the preemployment background checks, drug screens, and reference checks
  • Plans and conducts new hire orientation
  • Staying up to date with recruiting trends and employment legislation
  • Maintaining company career sites and external job boards
  • Ensures that job descriptions and interview guides are maintained accurate and up to date, particularly during periods of change
  • Assists Human Resources Department with administrative responsibilities and special projects, including compilation of data, data analysis and report preparation/generation
  • Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in human resources, business administration or related field and/or equivalent
  • Two or three years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Experience in fullcycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems
  • Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing avenues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Rippling and HiringThing preferred

Physical requirements

  • Sitting, Standing, Walking
  • Lifting, raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
  • Carrying, pushing or pulling office items up to 10 lbs.
  • Prolonged use of computer involved; use of hands and finger coordination; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision. Color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position is hybrid with the majority of the time spent at our Newport News, VA offices.
