Medical Editor, Clinical Content Hub, Haymarket Medical Communications Group
Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a
Medical Editor to join the
Clinical Content Hub team.

This position is located in our
New York City office, with two days on-site (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and three days remote.


Job Overview:


Responsibilities:


  • Perform daily editing of longform medical content, incorporating factchecking and adhering to AMA style and internal house style guide.
  • Develop and produce multimedia components, which may encompass infographics.
  • Oversee the acquisition and review of videobased programs, including marking videos for edits and reviewing transcriptions.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Clinical Content Hub team to ensure the timely execution of ondemand clinical content for publication on Haymarket Medical Network sites.
  • Posting articles to WordPress (including tagging and identification of graphic accompaniment)
  • Coordinate assignments to freelancers, ensuring adherence to allocated budgets and timelines, and providing editorial feedback as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (including ART team) to schedule workflow in alignment with established timelines and priorities.
  • Maintaining editorial calendar and adhering to production schedules

Skills and Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in English/Journalism/Communications with a strong background in the biological sciences or a Bachelor's Degree in science with strong editing skills preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in medical education/communication/advertising, with demonstrated skill in writing and editing
  • Excellent ability to edit and fact check medical and scientific and quick at execution
  • Excellent reading comprehension, listening and analytical skills, and oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint required
  • Proficiency with WordPress or another content management system preferred
  • Experience with Workfront, CrowdSignal, Infogram preferred
  • Proficiency with the AMA Manual of Style
  • A successful record of handling multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
  • Experience as a strong team player who can work crossfunctionally within an organization and follow through on all assigned tasks
  • Understanding of the needs of medical professional audiences, or demonstrated ability to identify the needs of a highly specialized audience
