Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Work with multidisciplinary team to provide support to client's incustody as well as immediately following their release from custody within various Orange County jails and juvenile custody facilities.
  • Provide oneonone mentoring with clients during release hours within the program homebase setting.
  • Help clients with system navigation postrelease including conducting followup phone calls the day after release and conducting site visits with team members to housing placements to ensure they are appropriate and or to ensure client is adjusting back into community with family/caregiver placement.
  • Transport clients as needed to appointments (i.e. Probation check in, arrive to housing placement) within the postrelease and for community integration opportunities with support from multidisciplinary team.
  • Work with YTP staff to ensure clients seamlessly transition to ongoing support.
  • Will support team caseload by participating in team checkins, consultations, and treatment planning to be prepared to provide behavioral health recovery interventions as guided by the treatment team.
  • Support facilitating weekly groups as assigned with other YTP staff members
  • Prepare and submit weekly case notes to the Peer Restorative Specialist Coordinator.
  • Participate in trainings, outreach events, perform assign duties, and submit timecards/leave requests according to deadlines.
  • Commit to the agency's Mission, Vision, and Values; represent actions that define the overall philosophy and objectives of the agency.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Must have lived experience with incarceration.
  • Must be familiar and/or comfortable using a traumainformed approach.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or other threshold languages is preferred.

Other Qualifications

  • Must complete a Live Scan Background Check
  • Must have a valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Position will require four graveyard and one daytime shift per week.
  • Must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Must be willing to learn and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must adhere to policies regarding professional ethics, appropriate boundaries, and client confidentiality.
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural, gender, and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff.
