This position is located in the DC Department of Health HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration (HAHSTA), Partnerships, Capacity Building, and Community Outreach Division.

The HAHSTA mission is optimizing health, wellness, and lifelong success through innovation for people living with or at risk of HIV, hepatitis, STDs and TB.

The Administration plans and coordinates the DC Health response to the epidemics; develops plans for programs in the District in collaboration/cooperation with community planning bodies, community-based organizations, and private providers; tracks the cases and conducts analyses on the status of the epidemics in the District; and administers grants and contracts.


Major Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent serves as the Housing Program Specialist.

The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Division Chief and is responsible for serving as Project Officer, monitoring, supporting and providing technical assistance to organizations funded under our Facility-Based housing programs.

Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for organizing, planning, implementing, and evaluation other community-based housing programs in concert with other HAHSTA team members to ensure goals, objective, and funding requirements are met and are incompliance with all federal, state and local guidelines.

The incumbent further works to ensure Division initiatives are aligned with the mission of HAHSTA and DC Health, are informed by scientific best practices and local data, and maximize the utilization of government resources.

The incumbent will organize and participate in community-housing forums to educate consumers and other stakeholders about the District's HOPWA program.

Create housing initiatives to increase housing choices. Initiatives will establisher partnerships regarding the needs of consumers and how to access housing resources.

Provide feedback to management (through verbal and written reports) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis on findings of the data analysis that indicate problems and trends; make recommendations for corrective actions; and keep and accurate reports of the findings.


Qualifications and Education

Specialized Experience:

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

To be creditable, at least one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.


Licenses and Certifications
None required.


Working Conditions / Environment
The incumbent must be able to carry out official duties in a variety of settings and conditions. Routine work will occur primarily in an office setting.

Monday - Friday 8:15am - 4:45pm
