    Job Title: Senior Water Resilience Project Manager

    Dewberry is offering an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Water Resilience Project Manager with 10-20 years of experience specifically focused on designing and managing large stormwater structures. Ideally, candidates with coastal design knowledge will be prioritized. Being local to the Virginia Beach office is preferred, with some flexibility provided. In this role, the selected Senior Project Manager will act as a leading technical expert and/or Project Manager overseeing the planning, engineering, and execution of significant projects addressing stormwater management, habitat restoration, marine/waterfront structures, sea-level rise, and mitigation studies or projects. Furthermore, the Senior Project Manager will actively contribute to proposal development, lead business growth initiatives, engage in conference presentations, participate in professional organizations, and potentially expand influence on a national scale.

    Additional Information:

    • This role will necessitate relocation to the Virginia Beach, VA area in approximately one year, depending on project schedules. Dewberry provides relocation support in addition to a competitive compensation package.

Notable projects have encompassed initiatives like City of Virginia Beach Sea Level Wise, Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan, Norfolk Southern Living Shoreline, VDOT I-64 Capacity Improvements, and Hampton Roads Sanitation District Boat Harbor James River Crossing Subaqueous Force Main.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop strong client relationships in Project Manager and Client Manager capacities.
    • Lead multidisciplinary teams of professionals in overseeing large-scale design projects.
    • Drive strategy and capture planning for significant design undertakings.
    • Perform engineering analysis, develop stormwater facility designs, and craft specifications and construction documents.
    • Manage, lead, execute, and/or provide technical guidance for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects in municipal, regional, and Federal markets.
    • Engage with clients to define objectives for project teams, coordinate resources effectively, and ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations.

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Hold a BS or MS degree with a focus on Water Resources or Stormwater Engineering.
    • Possess at least 10 years of experience in stormwater engineering.
    • Hold a Virginia PE License or be capable of obtaining a VA PE through comity.
    • Demonstrate progressive expertise in business development and project execution for stormwater and resilience projects within coastal communities.
    • Familiarity with USACE, Virginia DOT, FEMA, AWWA standards for design procedures.
    • Acquaintance with coastal engineering design is advantageous.
    • Exhibit strong technical writing and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in software tools like ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation.
    • Knowledge of hydrodynamic modeling programs such as PC-SWMM, MIKE, HEC-RAS, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is beneficial.
    • Extensive experience in the Virginia tidewater region is desired.
    • Maintain a clean driving record.
