Description

BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for contacting scheduled patients in accordance with registration and scheduling guidelines. Verify information, exam preparations, and check-in time.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contacts customers in a polite and helpful manner and collects all pertinent information.
  • Verifies customer demographics as required. Updates information in RisLinq and informs customer of estimated insurance copay/deductible amount due.
  • Maintains a pleasant and professional telephone etiquette and deals with customer needs expeditiously.
  • Supplements scheduling as needed.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Assumes responsibility for continually striving to meet goals as established by Modesto Radiology Imaging. We share a commitment to the patient, to the company, and to each other to strive toward the overall company goals that have been established.

Wage Range:
$18 to $24 Hourly


Required Skills:


  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of scheduling tasks, office policies/procedures, and proper completion of all required documents.
  • Working knowledge on use of telephone and computer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and on the telephone to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, and other customers.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and/or written instructions.

Required Experience:


  • High school Diploma or GED required. Bilingual required (English/Spanish)
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service setting; preferably a minimum of six months of experience as a scheduler in a radiology scheduling setting.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office environment and involves frequent telephone contact with patients, referring physicians, etc. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with people who are sick.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Sitting for 7 to 8 hours per day. Requires hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Repetitive use of the hands. Vision must be correct to 20/20, and hearing must be in normal range. Must be able to view computer screens and be on the telephone for long periods of time. Occasional stress related to workload and customer demands.
