ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER - DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

Title:

Function:


The Assistant Project Manager supports the Maintenance Capex Design and Construction team, which include corporate engineers and renovation project managers, for the design and construction process for RLJ Lodging Trust, a publicly traded real estate investment trust investing primarily in focused-service hotels.

The incumbent supports the Design and Construction team on a variety of functions, including project and contract administration and E-Builder/Yardi interfacing.


Responsibilities:


  • Administrative support for the RLJ Corporate Engineers and Project Managers with all aspects of ownermanaged capital project execution from a $100M+ annual capital budget.
  • Assist with the processing of invoices, contracts, and lien waivers pertinent to capital project execution.
  • Engagement and vendor/contact followup as needed for efficient and timely project execution.
  • Corporate office touchpoint for RLJ corporate engineers, renovation project managers, and external project managing consultants (as needed).
  • Ensure all documentation for project execution and close out is accounted for and stored in E
  • Builder.
  • Ensure policies and procedures for project execution are being followed by all relevant parties and assist where required.
  • Program management of specialized capital projects as directed by Senior Director and Vice
President of Design and Construction.

  • Project oversight and budget reconciliation of assetmanaged projects as assigned.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by Senior Director and VP of Design and Construction.

Skills:


  • Ability to monitor compliance with construction, vendor, and similar contracts/agreements.
  • Knowledge of construction, lodging, and real estate development is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint or other industry related scheduling software systems.
  • Good judgment and the business acumen to make wellreasoned decisions with respect to matters arising on a daytoday basis.
  • Selfmotivated, goaloriented, and results driven.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player or independently, in a fastpaced environment while prioritizing projects to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work in a highly dynamic and fastpaced environment.

Education/Training:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferable knowledge of E-Builder and Yardi Voyager (Yardi Asset and Property Management
Software) or enterprise accounting / project management systems.

  • Preferable knowledge of construction management process including project initiation, execution, and closeout
  • Preferable knowledge of contract administration

Experience:

years of lodging industry experience is preferred but not required.
