Job Title: Assistant Director for Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) Student Programs

Company: Yale College Dean's Office

The Yale College Dean's Office is looking for a dedicated and dynamic professional to lead initiatives that cater to the diverse needs of MENA students. This role involves implementing programs, overseeing resources, and advocating for the MENA community within the university environment. The Assistant Director will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, program development, and fostering a culturally inclusive space for MENA students.

Work closely with the Asian American Cultural Center Director on various operational aspects.
Manage a dedicated community space and supervise student staff.
Coordinate key events and traditions for MENA students.
Provide support to MENA student leaders and organizations.
Foster intra-community engagement and intersectional identity development.
Collaborate with other cultural centers to promote diversity and inclusion.
Develop relationships with faculty and academic departments to enhance student support services.
Create and support student-alumni programs and events.
Liaise with facilities for maintaining and upgrading community spaces.
Offer assistance to other university initiatives and departments when needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with three years of related experience.
Proven ability in staff supervision, program planning, and assessment.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in various software tools including Microsoft Office Suites and Google Docs.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to diversity and inclusion principles.

Preferred:

Background in education, social work, or race & ethnic studies. Experience working with diverse communities.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement: Compliance with university policies is mandatory.
