- Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures that are in compliance with applicable government regulations (e.g., SOX, GAAP, IFRS).
- Proactive ownership role in continuous process improvements as it relates to the company's internal controls, process memos and control matrices.
- Monitor industry/regulatory changes with respect to accounting standards adopted by the company and develop new processes and policies to accommodate accordingly.
- Ability to perform technical accounting research and prepare detailed accounting analysis to arrive at proposal of accounting treatment.
- Ability to work independently, as well as cross-functionally with teams across the organization to take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
- Work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his/her work product; Will work closely with all major functional leaders of the company.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
- Assist with annual internal and external financial statement audits. Complete requested materials.
- Provide back-up and assigned duties for other members of the finance team.
- Contribute to department and organization special projects, as assigned.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
- Ability to work normal schedule of Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting or in a corporate accounting role.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Master's degree and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Big 4 audit experience.
- Experience at a public company with SEC and SOX regulations.
- Experience with ASC 718.
- Experience preparing financial statements, including statement of cash flows.
- Life Sciences industry knowledge.

Position Overview
This Senior Accountant position will support the SEC Reporting and Equity Compensation accounting team. The Senior Accountant position will be responsible for preparing stock-based compensation accounting entries, maintaining the chart of accounts, monthly and quarterly financial statement validation and preparation including the statement of cash flows, preparation of footnote disclosures for Form 10-Q's and Form 10-K's, as well as assist with other miscellaneous filings with the SEC.

Salary Range:
$67, $109,000.00 The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis.
