- Assist with daily hands-on activity set-up and cleanup activities.
- Support teachers in guiding campers' focus during learning activities and facilitating smooth transitions between tasks.
- Supervise outdoor activities and safety.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among campers.
- Ensure an organized space by replenishing consumable supplies.
- Ability to be a positive role model and mentor to inspire campers towards STEM career journey.
- Participate in at least 9 hours of onboarding training, professional development, and staff meetings before camp starts.
- Be attentive to campers' and staff needs and assist them as issues arise.
- Participate in after-camp debrief.
- Other related activities as needed.
- Genuine interest and experience in working with young children in childcare/education environment.
- Can commit at 2-4 consecutive weeks from 8 am - 12 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs in the learning environment.
- Proactive in solving problems.
- Enthusiastic and reliable team player.
- Strong professional skills to fulfill required training and assigned tasks with excellence.
- Obtain a TB Risk Assessment & Fingerprint clearance (RAFT will cover the cost).
- Upper high school or college student.
- Previous experience as a camp counselor.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.

Job DescriptionSalary: $18-$20 per hourRAFT is seeking a Camp Counselor who enjoys working with kids. We will look to you to help campers feel safe and inspired to make the most of their camp experience. You will work under the facilitators' supervision and support campers' learning activities.
You will leverage your experience working with young kids to further RAFT's mission to bring the joy of learning to campers through hands-on STEAM project kits. By joining this summer program, you will be eligible to join our professional development training designed for young professionals interested in pursuing careers in teaching.

Our mission is to help educators use hands-on education to inspire children to experience the joy and discovery of learning.
Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) promotes STEAM-oriented hands-on activities to inspire and engage students. RAFT provides recycled and low-cost STEAM learning materials, maker space support, and professional development workshops for over 8,000 educators and their 150,000 students in the Bay Area and nationwide.
To continue serving our community during school breaks, we develop and run our STEAM Dream Camp to support students, educators, and educators in training.
