We are looking for Specialists and Team Members to join us in crafting a wide variety of vehicles from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV to our all-electric electric vehicle, the EQS SUV and EQE SUV. Our Tuscaloosa County site is home to the production of Mercedes' luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles. Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Our two campuses are among the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, with over 6 million square feet combined.

    Essential Functions:

    • Actively support National Commodity Specialist projects for purchase of non-production material
    • Organizing of Supplier Days and Team Events
    • Maintaining the Supplier Database and Contract Management System
    • Negotiating contract, scope and price terms under direction of National Commodity Specialists
    • Serve as liasion between Internal Business Partners, Suppliers and National Commodity Specialists
    • Run, evaluate and present KPI and purchasing data reports to management
    • Support the department leader with processes, systems and projects within the American region
    • Support audit related topics and corrective action implementation
    • Create training materials for buyer and customer trainings, organize training sessions (online or classroom setting)
    • Prepare board member presentations
    • Support organizational development projects
    Other Regular Daily Tasks:
    • Generate price sheets/cost breakdowns and comparison tools in Excel
    • Design presentations in PowerPoint
    • Creating Requests for Quotation and Purchase Orders in ProCure (IPS Buying System)
    • Direct communication with Internal Business Partner and Suppliers
    • Organize project meetings with internal and external participants
    Qualifikationen Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position

    Education:
    Student in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Finance/Controlling, Business Administration or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience

    Skills
    • Fluent English (oral/written)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
    • High degree of motivation, initiative and engagement
    • Ability to work in a diverse and open environment with all team members
    Preferred Start Date:
    • August 2024
    Benefits
    • Paid internship - hourly rate $18
    • Coverage of visa costs
    • $700 housing bonus
    Requirements:
    • Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree
    • Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
    • A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
    • Available for a minimum of 6 months
