    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Physical therapists provide care for people in an outpatient orthopedic setting.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Implement the plan of care with daily treatment sessions to address areas identified in the initial evaluation.
    • Utilize various modality interventions within operating parameters to address patient symptoms.
    • Completing documentation with Athena EHR following state and federal guidelines.
    • Using chemical cleaners on treatment tables, general workspaces, and equipment.
    • Follow company policy and procedures.
    • Follow OSHA standards and HIPPA guidelines.
    • Organize clinic equipment, supplies, and maintain a safe working environment free of obstacles.
    • Interact with patients in close contact and about sensitive matters and with hands on movement of the body.
    • Develop and foster positive rapport with administrative and medical staff, fellow employees, patients, and family members.
    • Complete initial evaluations including visual assessment, measurements with a goniometer, and hands on interpretations for new patients to establish the plan of care.
    • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and therapy techs along with providing education and training as needed.
    • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Graduate degree (M.B.A., M.A., etc).
    • 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Physical Therapists (PT's) have completed degree requirements from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
    • Obtained licensure by the state of Arkansas Physical Therapy Board.

    PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Orthopedic Certified Specialist
    • Certified Sports Specialist
    • Manual Therapy Certification

    SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Intermediate: Other, Word Processing/Typing
