Job Description:
We are excited to share an exciting, brand-new opportunity to play a pioneering role in the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine's new initiative, The Center for Clinical Innovation, as the Manager of Clinical Research.
This is an outstanding professional position for a veterinary medical professional, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, registered veterinary technician, or the equivalent, who appreciates the value and impact of clinical research.
The successful applicant will have an exciting role participating in and supervising others in cutting-edge clinical studies that will significantly advance the health and well-being of all companion pets, including equine, exotic, and farm animals, in a hospital with state-of-the-art technology.
Applicants both with and without prior experience working in a clinical research setting are welcome.We are looking for motivated, dedicated, and creative veterinary medical professionals who are ready to level up their career in this supervisory position.
The position is available immediately. Starting salary and appointment, staff, or clinical track faculty, will be commensurate with professional and academic credentials and experience.Job Responsibilities:
40% - Oversee Clinical Trials and Participate in Clinical Trial Sample and Data Collection.
10% - Responsible for recruiting supervising technicians and overseeing performance management and professional development.
10% - Assists with or takes primarily responsibility for sample and data collection from individual trial participants to ensure study progress continues as planned without interruption or delayed or incomplete sampling.
10% - Responsible for the development of recruitment methods to increase patient randomization into the trial, approval for trials from an ethics committee, delivery of materials for clinical trials, and coordinating the trial to make sure it runs smoothly.
10% - Trains, direct, and manage other professionals, such as clinical trial investigators, clinical trial nurses, and other clinical trial associates to make sure all individuals are up to date on all aspects of a clinical trial.
5% - Communicate with other professionals via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings to make sure the whole clinical trial team is consistently aware of any relevant information and issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience OR Master's degree and 2 years of related experience OR a terminal degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in research activities.

Vehicle Operation -University employees whose principal responsibilities of employment include operating a vehicle, performing maintenance on a vehicle, or supervising any public employee who operates or maintains a vehicle and positions with an expectation to travel will require an MVR and are subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

FERPA -As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services.
