Dominion Steel is in need of CAD Technician to grow our Engineering and Detailing department.

This position will be responsible for completing accurate 2D/3D designs, detailed drawings, and bills of materials on a wide range of structural and decorative steel projects.

This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering and Detailing.


Responsibilities:

• Work with estimating team to develop material takeoffs for bid requests
• Create accurate 2D/3D models of structural steel assemblies using Autodesk AutoCAD and Advance Steel software
• Generate layout, assembly, and part drawings for fabrication
• Export and nest DXF files for any parts needed to be cut on the CNC plasma table
• Troubleshoot any design or fabrication issues with the shop and field teams as needed
• Communicate with General Contractors and customers on Requests for Information (RFI's) and Change Orders
• Communicate with outsource design companies on larger, more complex projects; review drawings for accuracy and errors
• Help develop and maintain CAD standards for inhouse and outsourced design work

Qualifications:

• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD
• CAD Certificate or A.S. in Engineering Technology is preferred but not required; experienced Detailers without formal education are encouraged to apply

Pay:
$55, $85,000.00 per year
