Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Admissions Officer, promotes the University's mission by empowering prospective students, families, and educators with the information and tools needed to understand and navigate the college admissions process at Rutgers University
  • Newark.
  • This position is responsible for and not limited to the following.
  • Primarily works with firstyear students
  • Cross trains to work with, recruit, and enroll transfer students
  • Communicates effectively to all colleagues through regular and planned communication and/or meetings so that information and updates have been passed accurately and timely to those who require it
  • Accurate and demonstrates true commitment to quality work in all aspects of the job
  • Manages other duties as assigned throughout the year demonstrating the capability to learn new information, understand it and use that information to be effective in the position
This position will involve evening and weekend hours. Since frequent travel is required, the Admissions Officer must have access and use of a personal vehicle.

    Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience,
  • Requires two years of relevant experience that demonstrates skills in higher education admission counseling.

Certifications/Licenses

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required to perform the duties of this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires good communication skills and computer literacy skills in industry standard software.
  • Demonstrated evidence of program goal achievement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Perceptive Content, Marketing Cloud and data reporting and analytics.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
