The Role at a Glance:


As an Electrical Mechanical Service Technician (EMST), you will assemble and test various electrical components and accessories according to standardized work instructions or electrical schematics.

The role requires the ability to balance effective utilization of quality workmanship methods with the ability to meet production schedules, including product quantity goals, to achieve manufacturing goals.


What You'll be Doing:


  • Read, interpret, and understand electrical schematics including component and symbol recognition to complete electrical assembly and support mechanical assembly of power generation products
  • Assemble or build components including electrical wiring to include electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, electrical motors, variable frequency drives, plc's, electrical subassemblies, and other electrical elements according to standardized work instructions using a wide variety of power or hand tools
  • Test engines and Gensets using EOL (endofline) test cell software for bench testing, Hi-Pot testing, electrical skid testing, and factory witness testing to ensure consistent, quality products are ready to ship to customers
  • Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels. Effectively troubleshoot for all diagnostic codes and perform repairs and reworks including both mechanical deficiencies and wiring for junction boxes, transformers, and line connections to ensure they meet the electrical schematics and functionality
  • Document testing, quality, and audit procedures and results including filling out and submitting daily report and updating Lean SPQRC metrics
  • Utilize and improve blue card and yellow methodologies to effectively manage the issues/deficiencies through resolution
  • Perform audits across a variety of functions including work instruction, process verification, and layered
  • Problem solve, communicate, and escalate issues across functional areas (Assembly, Maintenance, Materials, Purchasing, and Engineering) to identify root causes, resolve the challenge, and prevent future occurrences
  • Verify product quality based on applicable work instructions or schematics and follow standard processes for reporting defective materials or questionable conditions
  • As needed, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production. Learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds. Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly
  • As needed, able and willing to perform mechanical assembly work to ensure a smooth production
  • All other duties as assigned by management
