Responsibilities

About This Position


In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy the Wound Care/Enterostomal Therapy Nurse monitors facilitates evaluates and provides care and teaching of patients with ostomies dermal ulcers fistula and incontinence problems.

Registered Nurses manages quality patient care through the nursing process. Coordinates plan of care with the health care team. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to prepare and assist them with their responsibilities.

Employees are responsible for completion of unit competency assessments annual safety review CPR and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy.

Ensures follow-up of in-patients and counsels outpatients by physician referral. Performs specialized procedures within guidelines of specialization and under the physician's orders.


RN Selection Criteria
At least 1 year Enterostomal Therapy experience preferred. Acute hospital experience preferred. Current California Registered Nurse license; graduation from an IAET-approved school of Enterostomal Therapy. ET Certification preferred. Demonstrates proficiency in wound care and enterostomal nursing.


Qualifications

Demonstrates the ability to appropriately delegate patient-care tasks related to wound care to other staff members. Demonstrates effective teaching strategies for both patients and staff Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates clear effective written and oral English skills and objective active listening skills Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all departments Current California Registered Nurse license


Pay Range
$ $68.77 /hour
