    Join usThis Advanced Lead Engineer Role has a high potential to become a future leader in composites. Activities include contributing to the design and development of the RISE Future Program, solutions and systems for polymer composites.

    This role will include the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of this Open Fan Advanced Mechanical Design (AMD) Team and will have input into the team's priorities.

    This Advanced Lead Engineer shall be guided by professional practices and policies of GE Aerospace that are shaped by the role.

    The role has some autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment with support of controlled title holders on the team.

    This role will specifically start out by conducing analysis and contributing to the design of airfoil and or structural composite hardware.

    Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesExecute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

    This work would include mechanical and some electrical engineering for all products.
    Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

    Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the marketUses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.

    Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
    Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
    Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree accredited college or university+ Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
    Composite analysis/design experience.
    Desired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
    Experience in aeromechanics, composites design, and or turbomachinery airfoil design with analysis.

    Significant FMEA (ANSYS solver, Hypermesh software, and CAD Modeling via NX PLM Teamcenter software) experience.
