Position Summary
This position prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements; maintains the price book for upcoming quotes and researches results for reasons why a proposal was not in line with a competitor.
This is an in-office role, not remote.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs and financial estimations, by projecting labor costs, material costs, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimation, by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base (price book) by entering and backing up data.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Analyzing information, cost estimating, planning/forecasting, reporting research results, attention to detail, communicating with others, and bid requirement analysis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Ability to calculate and project financial costs and figures.
- Ability to multitask, use resources effectively and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of HQMS Contract Management Systems, Microsoft Excel and Word as well as familiarity with the Internet.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 35+ years' experience in a related Estimator position
- Must possess Operations & Maintenance experience within infrastructure projects (i.e. postconstruction)
- Must have financial knowledge and estimation experience, to provide clear cost projects and analysis
