Description

Deerfield Packaging is looking to employ self-motivated, hardworking individuals to set up and operate its in-house Acme grinder.

Job Characteristics

Proper set up and care of Acme Grinder machine
Install wheels and belts for maintenance and job switchover as needed
Careful adjustment of weights and rests
Calibrate belt distance for correct tool width
Safe operation of Acme Grinder
Grind both sides of tools to specifications
Dimensional and quality inspection of all tools
Able to use manual and electric lifts to transport raw and finished materials
Read and interpret shop prints
Operate computer to handle inventory
Notify supervisor and/or maintenance of issues beyond personal control

Required Skills:

Excellent eye-hand coordination
Maintain alertness and attention for long periods of time
Often requires memorization of parts and prints
Close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Written and verbal English communication skills
Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals
Strict attention to safety procedures and guidelines including wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE)
Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe working environment
Adherence to attendance policy

Required Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Proficiencies

1+ years of related experience with packing machines/production machines

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and may be required to stand for up to 3 hours at a time.
