The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) serves unaccompanied children from outside the United States.

Bridging the child welfare experience with expertise in refugee resettlement, the program is uniquely shaped to care for minors with forced migration and traumatic experiences.

_

  • ORR works with states and local providers to provide unaccompanied refugee minors and other special populations of youth in the United States with necessary care and services. The youth receive the full range of assistance available to all foster children in the state by establishing a legal authority to act in place of the child's unavailable parent(s). With support from ORR, states administer and oversee the program and ensure program and fiscal requirements are met._

  • Lincoln Hall focuses on minors' safety, education, wellbeing, and selfsufficiency in their care. Services are based on state child welfare requirements and ORR regulations and policies._

- _ Shelter, food, clothing, and other necessities_

_ Position Description_

  • Under the supervision of the school administrator, the teacher is responsible for providing quality education in the least restrictive environment to all assigned students. The teacher will collaborate with the school administration and other personnel to create a healthy and supportive learning environment for students._
- _ Plan and Conduct age-appropriate lesson plans._
- _ Ensure that the lesson plans meet the developmental needs of the youth in the program, are in their native language, and provide opportunities for the minors to learn English and Acculturation._
- _ Create and facilitate educational activities in the community as well as hands-on projects that will enhance the lesson plans provided to the UAC youth._
- _ Maintain a calm and productive environment that is conducive to student success._
- _ Participate in agency meetings and training as required._

Qualifications_**- _ Bi-lingual (Fluent in English and Spanish)_
- _ Bachelor's degree_
- _ NYSED Certification._
