PARK MAINTENANCE CHIEF III - COLORADO DESERT DISTRICT/ FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT/ COLORADO DESERT DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS

  • The reporting location for this position will be Colorado Desert District Headquarters Office, Borrego Springs, CA. This position will work under general direction of the District Superintendent I.
  • This position is responsible for directly managing and administering all programmatic aspect of the District's Maintenance program and ensures compliance with all associated policies and regulations; including facility maintenance, grounds, equipment maintenance and replacement, housekeeping, roads, trails, and property. The Park Maintenance Chief III (PMC III) serves as a liaison with all agencies that regulate or impact maintenance functions boards, groups, governmental agencies and outside regulatory bodies. Coordinates all District maintenance and technical submittals and plans, supervises and directs the maintenance functions in the District and recommends the priority for all District projects. Provides direct supervision and management to the Colorado Desert Park Units (Anza-Borrego, Cuyamaca, and Palomar) in all aspects of facility maintenance functions. Directly supervises the Equipment Operator, Park Maintenance Supervisor for the Roads and Trails and Water & Sewer Plant Supervisor. Implements employee development measures including training, counseling, and performance appraisals and updating Annual Development Plans. Provides leadership in the illness and injury prevention program and safety inspections for the District facilities. The PMC III may be assigned to other park units within the district on a temporary basis in order to meet overall District operating needs. The PMC III needs to have a broad knowledge that allows them to provide leadership and initiative for facility and equipment management in the largest district in the park system.
  • Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position is designed as not telework eligible.
