Duties:


  • Manage distinguished visitor itineraries and major events for the U.S. Army War College (USAWC).
  • Oversee preparations for meeting proper social courtesy and cultural amenities of distinguished visitors.
  • Assist in arrangement of key conference and social functions, to include selection of invitees, agenda, event information, menu and catering contracts.
  • Provide advice to both military and civilian agencies on matters of protocol support.
  • Prepare and maintain the Master Guest List, Hosting Reports, presentations and briefings for functions.
  • Serve as primary and/or alternate Official Representational Funds Credit Card Holder.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be required to travel away from duty station up to 25% of the time.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to support the mission.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) planning and coordinating official visits such as dignitaries and high ranking officials; 2) providing advice on inquiries related to protocol functions; 3) assisting with protocol programs, missions and functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06) or equivalent pay band.

  • Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • TERM Appointment with option for conversion (must be established prior to announcement opening): To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
