About this Role:


The Enterprise Data and Information Management Program (EDIM), Program Data Reporting Division (PDRD) at the California DHCS is seeking
multiple highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our team as an Research Data Supervisor I (RD Sup I) within the Community Programs Data Support Branch.


Under general direction of the Research Data Supervisor II, the Chief of the Community and Specialty Services Data Section, the RD Sup I will be responsible for overseeing staff performing journey level work and for determining research data gathering and reporting design and methodology for complete research projects undertaken by the Specialty Services Data Unit.


  • The RD Sup I provides overall direction and supervision to staff who collect, analyze, and report data for multiple statewide complex health programs, and the review and analysis of utilization data, mandatory quality assurance reviews, technical research on the most complex health program research and data issues, and the design and implementation of innovative research methodologies. The incumbent is expected to inform the Chief of the Community and Specialty Services Data Section of current activities, achievements, and operating problems.

Working Conditions

  • Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections for employees residing in California.


Should the incumbent need to report to an office, they will need to report to DHCS office location: 1700 K Street, Sacramento, CA.

The PDRD is part of the EDIM Program, which provides departmentwide leadership and support of the collection, analysis, management, and dissemination of quality data and data products in order for programs to make sound, datadriven decisions to better serve members, improve outcomes, and support programmatic needs and requirements.
