A classic steakhouse offering the freshest steaks and seafood, Merrill & Houston's tell the story of Beloit's industrial heritage while focusing on the highest quality food with down-to-earth, attentive service.
THE PLAYER
You will serve and present great customer service by providing information to help with food and beverage selections, creating and presenting order selections, and maintain a great dining experience by promoting a warm and friendly atmosphere.
EVERY DAY, YOU WILL
- Take customers' food and drink orders
- Ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered to each table in a timely manner
- Suggest appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
- Make and serve drinks following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
- Control allocated guest checks by following established checkuse procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed.
- Process payments from guests and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment in order to safeguard customer and company.
- Serve food and/or beverage; ensuring consistency throughout meal
- Comply with all state and local liquor regulations
- Respond promptly to any guest request
- Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and mannerism
- Maintain clear and open communication between all staff for overall outstanding dining experience
- Create a pleasurable dining experience for all of our guests
Requirements:
YOU WILL BE GREAT AT MERRILL & HOUSTON'S STEAK JOINT IF
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have experience in making classic cocktails
- You possess basic math skills (able to add, subtract and count change back to customer)
- You have legible handwriting, strong customer service skills and oral communication skills
- You have a valid Operator's License
YOU ARE A VARSITY TEAM PLAYER IF
- You have one year of bartending experience (preferred)
- You have wine experience and/or certification
YOU MUST ALSO HAVE
U.S. Work Authorization (required)
