- Analyze motor carrier data to determine whether carriers attempting to onboard with GlobalTranz meet the company's carrier qualification requirements
- Utilize motor carrier monitoring services, government databases, and other resources during the due diligence process to identify and assess carriers that pose an unreasonable amount of risk to GlobalTranz; take actions to reduce that risk
- Maintain accurate background data on carriers and ensure proper record keeping in GlobalTranz operating systems; validate documents such as motor carrier agreements and insurance certificates
- Accurately update company load management software systems
- Respond timely to and escalate other carrier inquiries sent by carrier sales representatives and GlobalTranz agents
- Promote strong ethical standards in day-to-day functions and among team members
- Partner with internal and external parties to determine proper course of conduct when issues arise during the business relationship with carriers
- Collaborate with Manager of Contracts and Carrier Compliance to identify inefficiencies and develop effective policies and procedures
- Review, analyze, and report on various legal issues and regulations pertaining to GlobalTranz's business
- Offer ideas and suggestions to the Manager of Contracts and Carrier Compliance to improve upon the efficiency and effectiveness of the research projects that GlobalTranz pursues
- Embrace the opportunities to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
- Work on special projects as they arise
- High school diploma/GED required
- In lieu of degree, combination of education and years of experience will be considered
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office platform required
- 1-2 years' experience in compliance role preferred
- In lieu of education, compliance experience will be considered
- Related legal/compliance experience or background in logistics and/or trucking industries preferred
- High level of detail orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet browsing, and search knowledge required
- Strong business ethics
- Able to conform and promote the company's standards of conduct
- Ability to communicate effectively using various methods such as phone, email, messenger, and in-person

The Compliance Specialist manages the due diligence and risk management responsibilities needed to ensure that carriers utilized by GlobalTranz meet GlobalTranz's compliance standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position operates in a professional office environment requiring prolonged periods in a stationary position working at a desk. Must be able to remain stationary 90% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as headsets, phones, printers, and photocopiers. The person in this position frequently communicates with coworkers who have inquiries about customer and carrier transactions. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations as observed in web portals and software programs.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
