The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions (APS) Business pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines the leading edge of exotic new technologies, and drives advances in the sciences.

The Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Advanced Processing Solutions (APS) business is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering Team.
Candidate will work as a Manufacturing Engineer supporting packaging development and deployment of superconducting and quantum computing technology.
Candidate will interface with design engineering team to perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) assessments and make recommendations to optimize designs for common manufacturing processes (machining, turning, grinding, Wire EDM, etc.).
Once the first-article assemblies are complete, the candidate will develop work instructions and provide feedback to the design engineering team.
For non-first article assemblies built by technicians, the candidate will perform quality assurance inspections on all received material and subassemblies, providing feedback to technicians as required.
Finally, this candidate may be asked to step into roles that are adjacent to inventory management, lab management, and general technical leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering field and 5 years of experience.
An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be added in lieu of degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Proficiency reading and interpreting 3D models and engineering drawings.
Deep understanding of mechanical engineering standards and practices.
Deep understanding of many different manufacturing techniques, including but not limited to EDM, manual and CNC milling and turning, sheet metal processing, and 3D printing.
Demonstrated experience providing feedback on design and assembly of systems.
Ability to communicate effectively to team members on technical and non-technical subjects both verbally and in writing.
Ability to adjust to changing priorities and requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role OR a Masters in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
Experience with cross-functional team leadership.
Experience working in a lab environment.
Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
Salary Range:
$93,000 - $139,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
