- Serving STEHP families, understand learning and sensitive about domestic violence and its impact on women and families ·
- Proactively engage with survivors, conduct intake assessments, and devise tailored plans that address individual needs; including short-term and long-term goals that lead toward financial self-sufficiency ·
- Customer service oriented, compassionate, ability to work with different demographics. ·
- Discuss with Job Developer, general expectations of case management and how it involves their goals for career readiness with STEPH families ·
- Guide program clients how to prepare for career training and employment success ·
- Coaches and prepares program participant for interview and entry into the workforce. Including, outline and explain the processes of the resources and employment and training opportunities ·
- Identify concrete needs and provide an on as needed basis. Coordinate on-site and off-site services (i.e., childcare) ·
- Work with Job Developer to help evaluate individual's backgrounds, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. ·
- In collaboration with Job Developer, show clients demonstrated progress toward multiple short-term outcomes measured at program completion, including gains in using office technology, improved professional development skills and career readiness; increased confidence in career outlook, and improved self-esteem.
- Attend individual case supervision, group supervision, monthly case conferences, and staff meetings, as required
- (2) years of relevant training and experience, including experience working with victims of domestic violence in lieu of a bachelor's degree; or bachelor's degree in health or human services. ·
- Two (2) years of crisis counseling or advocacy experience preferred in a residential shelter for victims of domestic violence, and experience and demonstrated skills in group counseling. ·
- Must possess a demonstrated ability in delivering client services including communication and listening skills, understanding of human interaction and personality development, the ability to write and record case documentation, and demonstrated skills in individual and group counseling. ·
- Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities including individuals whom identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, etc. ·
- Familiarity with the neighborhoods and population of Bronx County is a plus ·
- Ability to organize workload and work effectively and produce measurable results with minimal supervision. ·
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing needs of the program ·
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills ·
- Must be computer-literate and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Provide individual case management services and phone counseling to clients; maintain confidentiality; ·
- Must have a non-judgmental and empathetic approach ·
- Maintain professionalism both in the office and in the community ·
- Must be highly knowledgeable about domestic violence survivors ·
- Have key understanding about the methods of job development, client placement and retention ·
- Strong social and (written & oral) communication skills, patience, organizational and time management ·
- Responsible to prepare reports, documentation, presentations, and utilize databases.
- Provide administrative support as needed ·
- Maintain accurate and timely case records; maintain confidentiality ·
- Must have ability to be flexible of schedule as needed.
- May be required to travel to sites, events; and other various locations across the Bronx ·

The Bezos Foundation Workforce Support Program at BronxWorks seeks to hire 1 full-time Case Manager. The selected candidate will work in coordination with two departments; Workforce Development and Homelessness Prevention & Access to Benefits; and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of domestic violence survivors while utilizing a non-judgmental and empathetic approach is especially important. This position will play a key role to work as part of a dedicated team to provide the workforce programming and engagement to the STEHP families in helping families after they are housed gain professional development skills and career readiness, including employment opportunities, work supports (i.e., financial counseling, tax prep services, etc.), so they can rebuild their lives.
As a team, work to create a positive, yet productive working relationship with clients served by the program while being empathetic and understanding to their needs consisting of people of different backgrounds. He/she must be a self-starter committed to the mission, values, beliefs of BronxWorks. ·
