Maintenance Technician

Essential Functions:


  • Reading a tape measure accurately and performing simple construction math will be crucial.
  • Knowledge of door handing, slab cutting, lockset boring and general door geometry.
  • Door hardware replacement lockset coring and adjustment of latching mechanisms is common.
  • Wall cabinet hanging, base cabinet replacement, refinishing, repair, and hardware drilling.
  • Window installation retrofit and repair. Balancer spring replacement and screen repair.
  • Installation of window treatments mini blinds and associated trim work.
  • Replacement of kitchen countertops, cutting in sinks and garbage disposal replacement.
  • Rebuilding or replacement of shower mixing valves, faucets, drain components and sinks.
  • Rebuilding or replacement of toilet tank components, complete units, and seats.
  • Repair or replacement of bathroom ventilation fans associated lighting fixtures & GFCI outlets.
  • Masonry and gypsum wall repair. Removal, replacement and taping of gypsum wall systems.
  • Demolition and replacement of flooring systems including rug, hardwood, tile, and vinyl plank.
  • Performs a variety of interior and exterior wall and trim painting services as needed.
  • Performs masonry, concrete, asphalt, and stone repairs as needed by the property manager.
  • Receives digital work orders from the automated system or verbal instructions from supervisor.
  • Operates Case bobcat, snow blowers or other manual equipment during seasonal operations.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all ground's equipment prior to seasonal use.
  • Cuts grass, trims weeds and plants flowers on organization's property.
  • Performs daily trash and recyclable consolidation preparing for weekly pick up.

Skills/Qualifications:


  • Must have a current driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Able to learn the AppFolio computerized maintenance software. Experience with Appfolio already is a plus.
  • Motivated and responsible for all general maintenance work at property sites.

Education / Experience:


  • Prior experience as a maintenance technician is required.
  • Certification in the following areas is desired. Light Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry.
  • Trade school experience, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Massachusetts hydraulics engineer license class 2B is a plus.
  • English is required. Multilingual is a plus.

Physical Demands:

The employee will regularly lift or move 20 pounds, is frequently required to lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally team lift 100 pounds or more.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb; bend; lift and twist.


Pay:
$ $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
