Special Instructions for Applicants:


Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Human Resources, provide administrative, project, and analytical support for HR processes and functions across Student Affairs.

Works with the Assistant Director, HR leads, and HR Generalists to process transactions, assistant departments with recruitment efforts, onboard employees, develop and maintain job descriptions, provide general guidance on personnel policies and procedures, facilitate general benefits communication, offboard employees, and maintain employment records.

Consults with Campus Human Resources (CHR) for exceptions, special approvals or as needed.

Salary & Compensation:
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the UCPath system (preferred)
  • Ability to produce human resourcesrelated documents, correspondence and memos with speed and accuracy using personal computer. (required)
  • Working knowledge of the University's benefit programs and procedures in order to provide general counseling on health, dental, vision, disability, life, legal, and retirement information. (preferred)
  • Ability to analyze information or data and make specific recommendations to address issues or solve problems. (required)
  • Demonstrated excellent mathematical skills to calculate salaries, perquisites, work study balances, vacation and sick leave accruals, payroll changes and other necessary financial transactions. (required)
  • Oral communication skills to obtain and impart information with accuracy and diplomacy. (required)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information related to pay, personnel status, medical information and disciplinary actions. (required)
  • Ability to establish and maintain trusting, cooperative working relationship with Campus Human Resources staff, Central Resource Unit, management, officials and employee representatives. (required)
  • Ability to work accurately efficiently and neatly with a high volume of detailed paperwork with frequent interruptions or distractions. (required)
  • Working knowledge of University Personnel/Payroll Policies and Procedures, MSP, PSS, and union contracts. (preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (required)
