Position:
Automation Engineering Support Specialist

Job Description

The contractor shall appoint an Automation Engineering Support Specialist to assist the CTSF (Command, Control, and Communications Tactical Systems Framework) by developing, testing, and implementing software tools or programs that automate AIC (Army Interoperability Certification) processes.

Additionally, the specialist may be required to support the design, development, integration, modification, and testing of models of platform electronic systems and their standard interfaces for the purpose of virtual prototyping, both for new systems and retrofit electronics.

Furthermore, the specialist shall provide support for various studies and analyses, including Simulation/Stimulation, New Tests and Evaluation, Automated Data Collection, and Instrumentation Tools.

The Automation Engineering Support Specialist will also engage in system modeling using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques.

This modeling is intended to define system interfaces, requirements, and behaviors and will provide support for system design, trade studies, and the selection of preferred design solutions.

The specialist will contribute to the selection of commercial hardware or software components and provide alternatives for project development and product delivery.

The specialist will work on automation engineering support, participate in system requirements reviews, and contribute to the creation or update of requirement specifications and technical documentation for Government review.

Furthermore, the specialist will review automation engineering and system engineering documentation to ensure that specifications align with system needs, are accurate, comprehensive, consistent, and complete.

The Automation Engineering Support Specialist will play a key role in developing system integration plans, procedures, and scenarios used in the execution of software/hardware system integration testing.

The specialist will also support the analysis of integration results to assess system impacts and provide analysis support to the test team in the development and conduct of formal testing.

Responsibilities

The Automation Engineering Support Specialist will be responsible for the following:

Developing, testing, and implementing software tools or programs to automate AIC processes, enhancing efficiency and repeatability.

Providing support for the design, development, integration, modification, and testing of platform electronic systems and standard interfaces for virtual prototyping.

Assisting in studies and analyses related to Simulation/Stimulation, New Tests and Evaluation, Automated Data Collection, and Instrumentation Tools.
Engaging in system modeling using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques to define system interfaces, requirements, and behaviors.
Supporting system design and contributing to trade studies for design solution selection, commercial component assessment, and project development alternatives.
Assisting in the creation or updating of requirement specifications and technical documentation for Government review.

Reviewing automation engineering and system engineering documentation to ensure specifications align with system needs and meet accuracy, comprehensiveness, consistency, and completeness standards.

Developing system integration plans, procedures, and scenarios for software/hardware system integration testing.
Supporting the analysis of integration results to assess system impacts.
Providing analysis support to the test team in the development and execution of formal testing.

Qualifications

The Automation Engineering Support Specialist should have the following qualifications:

BS or higher in STEM, and
5+ years exp in Software Engineering.
Have one of the following IAT Level II Certifications:
CCNA-Security
CySA+ **GICSP

GSEC
Security+ CE

CND

SSCP
practiced in C#, JAVA
Previous experience in software development, automation engineering, or related roles.
Proficiency in software development languages and tools.
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and system modeling.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and documentation abilities.
Knowledge of systems engineering and integration processes.
Familiarity with defense and AIC processes is a plus.
