    Job Description

    QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our C5ISR Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division contract.

    Duties:

    • Support algorithm/waveform/technique development existing primarily in the Radio Frequency (RF) space.
    • Assist with the design and development of networking techniques and protocols, database management systems, and programming in high order languages (e.g., C++, Python).
    • Leverage knowledge of software design principles to maximize readability and maintainability.
    • Support the integration of sensor capabilities to include, but not limited to, activities that support hardware/software consolidation and virtualization and cybersecurity compliance.
    • Assist with turning requirements and specifications into working software.
    • Work with computer simulation, client-server architectures, networking techniques and protocols, databases (flat-file, relational, and object-oriented), high-order programming languages, and operating systems.

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Familiarity with Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Radio Frequency (RF) receiver design required.
    • Experience working in C++ and Python. Experience with other higher level languages a plus.
    • Agile development experience utilizing modern software automation tools to develop software to run on Linux/Windows environments.
    • Familiarity with software testing principles and writing software. Knowledge of software testing frameworks a plus.
    • Familiarity with Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and/or Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) concepts a plus.
    • Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

    Required Clearance:

    • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
    • Three (3) years of relevant experience required.

    Travel:

    Less than 10% travel is expected for this position.

    Work Environment:

    This position will be co-located with the customer and other contractors in Government office spaces.

    • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
    • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours.
