    We have an immediate opening for a Traffic Operations Analyst position that will perform traffic analysis for a wide range of transportation projects primarily for public sector clients including state departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, municipal clients and other public entities. Assignments will include traffic operational modeling and analysis, identifying and developing creative and innovative solutions, and preparing technical reports and presentations. Currently, WRA has offices in Jacksonville and Tampa however, this position can be located anywhere in Florida.

    This position will include assignments such as: traffic operational modeling/simulations, safety studies, transportation planning studies, travel demand modeling, traffic volume forecasting, MOT evaluation/analysis, and capacity analysis. Work will also include assisting on marketing efforts including proposals and presentations. Project assignments will range from evaluating small-scale intersections to developing robust VISSIM models, travel demand models, traffic volume forecasts, and technical traffic evaluation reports for congested freeways through multiple interchanges. Analysis may include all modes of travel (highway, bus, rail, bike, new mobility, and pedestrian) for urban, suburban, and rural environments.

    Requirements:

    The successful applicant must possess the following:

    • BSCE degree required
    • A minimum of 5 to 15 years of traffic engineering with a focus in microsimulation and operations
    • Understanding of traffic modeling techniques (macro, meso, and micro)
    • Experience with VISSIM, HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic
    • Experience with TransModeler, aimsun, VISUM is preferred
    • Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, and Highway Safety Manual
    • Ability to travel to project sites, company offices and client meetings
    • Exceptional communication, technical writing, presentation, and organizational skills
    • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
    • Willingness to continue to learn and grow technically and professionally within the company
    • Open to utilizing and developing new technologies and approaches for performing work
