JOB PURPOSE:
The NACE Inspector / Painter is responsible for safely over seeing or assisting with all aspects or work in the painting, surface preparation, finishing, and maintenance of projects in accordance with safety guidelines, Quality Control program procedures, and Federal, state, and local laws.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Over sees or assists all aspects of a coatings project safely and efficiently: Painting, blasting, sanding, priming, sealing, and patching surfaces, buildings, and fixtures. While performing the aforementioned tasks, NACE Inspector / Painter must always be cognizant of quality control procedures, project specifications (good understanding of customer needs), and all applicable safety guidelines.
- Ensures staff operates, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers, mixing containers, mixing equipment, and pumps. Safely storing and labeling all materials when not in use.
- Maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with safety program requirements.
Communicate and listen effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
DESCRIPTION OF NONESSENTIAL DUTIES:

May perform administrative duties such as yard and jobsite inventory, safety meetings, payroll timesheets, change orders, time and material tickets, bill of materials, the reading of blueprints, and other jobsite paper work as assigned both accurately and neatly.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires experience with all aspects of painting, surface preparation, finishing, and maintenance of a wide variety of industrial structures
- Requires good oral communication skills
- Requires the ability to present a clean and professional image
- Must be available at nontraditional hours to complete projects according to contract or job requirement
- Basic understanding of coatings scope documents
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED:
- May require the wearing of safety glasses, steeltoed shoes, safety harness, hearing protection, respiratory protection, hard hat, and protective gloves, and site specific personal protective equipment while working at the various job sites (i.e. respirators).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, and/or use hands and fingers to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move and/or pull up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of painting equipment, which may include lifting 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) above shoulders (6-7 feet) to load onto trucks.
The employee must also be capable of continuously carrying/wearing harness and work belt weighing 25-50 pounds while performing work.Must also be capable of climbing onto trailers or trucks and onto racks to secure and move equipment as well as climbing ladders to access scaffolding up to high precarious places.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee regularly works in high, precarious places, is exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, non-weather heat, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Pay:
$65, $75,000.00 per year
