- Specific duties will include teaching three courses per semester, in addition to maintaining an active research program. During the first two years of the appointment, it is typical to have a reduced teaching load of two classes per semester, providing an opportunity to establish a research program and develop courses. This reduced course load may continue pending research productivity. Faculty may also use funds from externally-sponsored research programs to reduce their teaching loads.
