THE POSITION:


Do you have an analytical mind set and a keen eye for detail? If so, the Department of Labor & Industry wants you on our team as an Unemployment Compensation Tax Technician.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining the individual enterprises' reserve accounts and to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of appropriate action on these cases.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • In this role, you will be focusing on processing the correction and reversal of erroneous experience transfers previously processed. This process includes the auditing, analyzing, and reconciliation of employers reserve account fiscal year balances as well as lifetime reserve balances. Work will also include categorizing and classifying correspondence known as the Manage Unclassified Document Action Required (MUD) tasks received through the Department of Revenue (DOR) scanning processes. You will have the opportunity to review monthly reports for accuracy as well as assist the section manager in the preliminary rate testing functions for the mass yearly rate calculation program for all Pennsylvania employers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with 30minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Successful completion of the Unemployment Compensation Tax Technician Trainee program (commonwealth title);
    or:
  • Two years of experience in maintaining financial records, bookkeeping, tax preparation, or clerical accounting;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
