- Locate and document medical and nursing patient care information in the electronic or paper medical record
- Use appropriate interview techniques to obtain history within the unit's allotted policy time frame, and provide appropriate intervention
- Identify standards of care common to patient population, i.e. age specific, barriers to learning
- Deliver patient care using problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of medication dosages per patient population served and administer medication safely and accurately
- Evaluate outcome of care to determine if patient needs have been met
- Chart forms are completed fully; no blanks left and are legible
- Provide feedback and offer constructive suggestions when problems or complaints arise; use chain-of-command for problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Complete care assignments in a reasonable amount of time and report to oncoming shift the care that should be provided and/or needs that have yet to be addressed
- Follow hospital standards related to the Kronos system
- Accept responsibility for own learning needs; attend courses and in-services offered; maintain clinical skills required on unit; maintain knowledge of current policies
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and team members, serving as a preceptor for new employees, coworkers, and students and evaluating their performance by validating clinical and technical skills and interpersonal interactions
- Maintain communication with patient family/significant other as patient progresses through continuum of care
- Maintain proficiency of computer skills, utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
- Take on-call duties as required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
- A minimum of one year of recent OR experience is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Job Summary
The OR Registered Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care and policy and procedure.
