Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and recently incarcerated people, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community.

JOB SUMMARY**:

Working in a team environment, this position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery by performing maintenance tasks and assisting in the packing and preparation of bakery products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

:

Responsible for general Bakery maintenance such as dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and window washing. Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Process/pack bakery products to order, per the displayed order schedule
Erecting boxes and palletizing orders
Assemble client baked goods orders
Assemble boxes
Assist in maintaining product integrity following company mission
Develop a working knowledge of all production areas and order processing
Comply and follow company food safety and workplace safety policies
Identify various product forms by sight
Be flexible and assist in other areas of production as needed/requested

:

Ability to perform all essential job duties
Ability to work independently

RATE OF PAY

$18-$19

Work is primarily conducted in an indoor environment within a bakery setting. There may be exposure to high levels of equipment noise, such as industrial mixers and ovens, as well as exposure to chemical fumes from cleaning products. Dust may be present due to flour and other baking ingredients. Employees should be mindful of potential electric hazards from machinery and equipment. Field conditions may vary when tasks involve outdoor activities such as deliveries or maintenance.
