The company has been in operation since 1917 and has experienced a growth of nearly 70% in the past six years.

Currently, we are seeking a Shipping Specialist (Day Shift) to join our Production team in East Providence, RI. The position is Monday to Friday. Shipping Specialists are responsible for shipping paperwork and general planning and logistics.

They are responsible for directly assisting the shipping lead in daily duties and objectives, such as inventory management, pick creation, and cycle counting.


Shift: 6 am - 3:15 pm


Hourly Wage:
$20.86


Responsibilities:


  • Organize, prioritize, and process LTL shipments for the facility. This includes setting up carries, printing pick lists, preparing shipping documents (labels, packing list, and bill of lading), and verifying LTL rate accuracy.
  • Process shipping related paperwork and ensure accuracy and appropriate timing of confirmations.
  • Assist Shipping Lead as needed in daily warehouse management duties
  • Assist the team in cycle counting, inventory identification/location, and general management and organization of the shipping area.
  • Drive a forklift on an as needed basis to provide backup and additional capacity to the shipping department.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, including loading, organizing, and wrapping orders, ensuring accuracy and quality package
  • Handle receivables
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions


This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, fumes, odors, and dust.

Requirements:


  • Strong computer skills
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent strongly preferred


  • Microsoft Office

  • Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.
  • Ability to determine freight costs
  • Understanding of hazardous materials regulations
  • Finished goods and raw material product knowledge
  • Organized and process driven. Able to stay ahead of shipping deadlines and customer expectations
  • Reliable means of transportation required
  • Must be able to pass a preemployment background check, drug screening, education verification (if applicable), and physical abilities test (PAT).
  • Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked.
For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling constantly up to 50 pounds.


In addition this position requires the following abilities:
Standing, Walking, Lifting, Reaching above shoulders, Bending and Twisting.
