Join our team as a Data Governance Specialist Tandigm Health is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Data Governance Specialist and drive the appropriate understanding and utilization of our data assets.

In this role, you will play a key role in advancing our data governance goals. You will collaborate across all business areas to establish and implement data policies, processes, and training initiatives. Your responsibilities will include organizing our data catalog, mapping data lineage, and improving data quality. Additionally, you will classify data based on its sensitivity, importance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and accountability.


Reporting to the Enterprise Data Governance Manager, you will work closely with business leadership, IT, compliance, privacy, legal, and information security teams.

Your proactive approach to fostering a data-driven culture will be instrumental in driving organizational success. To excel in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of data management, privacy, security, and governance frameworks.

Your ability to bridge the gap between business and technical requirements will be crucial in driving value from our data assets.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Data Governance Framework; support the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with organizational strategic goals and industry best practices. Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business and data/technical teams on data sourcing, catalogues, dictionaries, and lineage mapping exercises.
  • Metadata Management; work closely with IT to oversee the development and maintenance of metadata to enhance understanding of datasets. Ensure the availability and accessibility of metadata to support data lineage and relationships.
  • Data Quality; partner with various stakeholders to enhance data quality through establishing data quality standards and monitoring data activities. Collaborate with business and IT teams to remediate data quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Data Classification and Security; work closely with information security team to implement data classification policies to categorize data based on sensitivity and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with information security teams to enforce data security measures and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Data Privacy and Compliance; stay informed about data protection laws and regulations and ensure that data governance practices comply with these requirements. Collaborate with legal, compliance and privacy teams to address privacy concerns and implement data privacy measures.
  • Data Stewardship; partner with business leaders to identify and assign data stewards responsible for overseeing the quality and integrity of specific data domains. Collaborate with business units to define data ownership, responsibilities, and accountability.
  • Change Management; initiate change management processes to ensure that data governance policies and practices are effectively communicated and adopted across the organization.
  • Design and configure Collibra asset models, communities, custom views and custom workflows.
  • Design Data Governance processes and model them in Collibra.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, monitor ongoing results, define process areas for review, and conduct benchmarking activities to ensure best in class results for data management best practices.
  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Tandigm Health's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.
  • Uses, protects, and discloses Tandigm's patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and protects Tandigm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
  • Adheres to and responsible to abide by all information security policies, processes, and/or activities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree from a fouryear college
  • MBA preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 57 years' experience working in a data governance or related role
  • 35 years hands on experience with operating and configuring Collibra
  • Ability to create/manage communities, domains, assets (business, data, compliance, technology), relationships and dashboards within Collibra
  • Hands on experience with data
